Wondrous Wild was built on 28 years of on-the-ground experience across Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda – not as a travel agency selling other people’s products, but as a safari operator with its own ground teams, its own trusted lodge and camp partnerships, and its own resident representative in Rwanda managing every gorilla and Rwanda journey personally. Every safari we design is private, every itinerary is built from scratch around the traveller, and every detail is handled by people who know these destinations intimately. We are not a booking platform. We are the team behind your journey, from the first conversation to the final transfer home.
Wondrous Wild operates across Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda – three countries that together represent the full breadth of what East Africa has to offer. Each destination stands beautifully on its own, and we design dedicated itineraries for all three. We also specialise in multi-country journeys that move seamlessly between them – beginning in Rwanda with a gorilla encounter in the Virunga forest, continuing into Kenya’s Maasai Mara for the classic safari experience, and culminating in Tanzania’s Serengeti and the Zanzibar coast.
These cross-border journeys are among the most complete safari experiences in the world, and the logistics that make them feel effortless are something we have spent nearly three decades perfecting.
Every Wondrous Wild safari is priced individually, because no two journeys we design are alike. The cost depends on the destinations included, the duration of the trip, the category of accommodation, the size of the travelling group, and the season of travel. What we can tell you is that our safaris are designed for travellers who value quality, privacy, and genuine expertise – and that every quotation we provide is transparent, itemised, and free of surprises.
The best first step is a conversation with our safari designers, who will listen to what you are looking for and come back with a proposal that makes sense for both your vision and your budget. Requesting a quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
For most East Africa journeys, we recommend beginning the planning process at least six to twelve months before your intended travel dates. The best camps and lodges across the Maasai Mara, Serengeti, and Rwanda book out well in advance, particularly during peak wildlife season between July and October and over the Christmas and New Year period. Gorilla trekking permits in Rwanda are limited in number and among the first things to sell out – securing these early is essential for any itinerary that includes Rwanda.
That said, our team has strong supplier relationships built over nearly three decades, and where last-minute availability exists, we will find it. The earlier you reach out, the more choices we have to work with on your behalf.
