Wild at Heart, Together
4 Days · Lake Naivasha · Maasai Mara
There is a particular kind of wonder that happens when a child sees their first giraffe in the wild. Or watches a fish eagle fold its wings and dive. Or stands inside a Maasai village learning to make fire the way it has been made here for generations. This journey was built around those moments. Beginning at the shimmering shores of Lake Naivasha, where families walk freely among zebras and antelopes on a guided island sanctuary, it moves on to the Maasai Mara – one of the greatest wildlife theatres on the planet.
Four days of private game drives, campfire evenings, cultural encounters, and memories that will be retold at family dinners for years to come. Africa has a way of getting into children early, and never quite letting go.
Detailed Safari

Day 1: Into the Valley, Onto the Lake
Nairobi · Lake Naivasha · Crescent Island
Your safari begins with a private pickup from your Nairobi hotel, your family settling into a 4×4 Land Cruiser as the city falls away behind you. The drive down the Great Rift Valley escarpment is one of Kenya’s great scenic moments – wide, ancient, and full of stories – and there will be time to stop for photographs before you arrive at Lake Naivasha for lunch and check-in. The afternoon opens up on the water, a private boat cruise revealing pods of hippos lolling in the shallows and fish eagles riding the thermals overhead.
Then comes the moment the children will talk about all evening: stepping off the boat onto Crescent Island, a private game sanctuary where giraffe, zebra and antelope roam freely and your family walks among them on foot.

Day 2: The Mara Awaits
Lake Naivasha · Maasai Mara
After breakfast, the journey continues across the Great Rift Valley floor toward the Maasai Mara, a name that carries weight for good reason. The landscape shifts as you go, the plains opening wider, the skies growing bigger, until the reserve receives you at camp in time for lunch. No time is wasted. The afternoon brings your first private game drive across the sweeping grasslands, your guide reading the land with the kind of expertise that only comes from years in the field. Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino. By the time the fire is lit and dinner is served beneath the stars, the Mara has already made its impression.

Day 3: A Full Day in the Wild
Maasai Mara
The Mara rewards those who rise early. Before the sun is fully up, your private vehicle is moving through the reserve, the predators most active in this cool first light. Cheetahs on the move. Lions resting after a night’s hunt. Vast herds shifting across the plain in the golden morning. Back at the lodge for lunch, the afternoon offers something different: a child-friendly bushcraft session with resident naturalists for the young explorers, while the adults catch their breath. Then the whole family heads out together to visit a traditional Maasai Boma, where the community welcomes you into their world. Fire-making, beadwork, the rhythm of the jumping dance. Africa is generous with what it shares.

Day 4 – One Last Look
Maasai Mara · Nairobi
The final morning is unhurried. Breakfast together, a last look across the plains, and then the journey back to Nairobi begins, the route taking in one more pass through the reserve for any wildlife the previous days may have kept hidden. By mid-afternoon the city reappears on the horizon. Whether your family continues straight to the airport or pauses for a lunch stop along the way, the Mara comes with you in some form. It tends to.
